Why are my candle fragrances free of phthalates?
Phthalic acid derivatives are often used to denature the alcohol of perfumes and improve their staying power.
The effects of phthalates on human health
They are recognized as endocrine disruptors, causing cancer, infertility problems, headaches and potentially dangerous for the development of the foetus.
Phthalates are used in a variety of cosmetics and personal care products. Phthalates are chemical compounds developed in the last century that are used to make plastics more durable. These colorless, odorless, and oily liquids are also called "plasticizers" because of their most common uses.
Phthalates also function as solvents and stabilizers in perfumes and other scented preparations. Cosmetics that may contain phthalates include nail polish, hair spray, aftershave lotion, cleanser, and shampoo.
None of our products contain phthalates!
